Eucalyptus (eucalyptus globulus) essential oil is a potent antibacterial and decongestant, making it highly beneficial for coughs and sore throats, especially helpful in mucous conditions due to its drying effect on respiratory tissue. Rubbing a mixture with eucalyptus on the chest will help to relieve tightness and any soreness as well as 

The oil has antiseptic and a soothing effect on the skin, which enables it to reduce the itch and inflammation of insect bites.  The scent wards off insects as well. 

The scent is invigorating, increasing energy, and helps to clear the head by improving concentration and lowering the sense of stress and muscular aches & pains, headaches, clears head, and aids concentration.
